GAME PLAY

Games shall be played in accordance with the FIDE Laws of Chess where applicable.
All moves and other communications shall be transmitted through the server.
All chess rules and time oversteping are automaticaly aplied by chess-server.com (checkmate, stalemate, threefold repetition and 50 moves rule).
Computer assistance is authorized, as any other kind of help.
It is strictly forbidden to play simultaneously the same game with black on a board and white on the other, against two different players, playing black moves like the opponent in the game with white and playing white moves like the opponent in the game with black.


TIME CONTROLS

Reflection time allowed is:

Each chess-server.com full member may claim up to a total of 30 day's leave during each tournament (by using Leaves service).


RATING SYSTEM

Unless otherwise indicated, correspondence chess tournaments played are rated. The chess-server.com ratings system operates on a formula:

  1. We(white) = 0,541767 + 0,001164 * (WhiteRating - BlackRating) or
  2. We(black) = 0,458233 + 0,001164 * (BlackRating - WhiteRating)
  3. Rating Points(RP) = K * (GameResult(W) - We)
  4. Rating difference between all players on the same tournament can be maximum 300 points,
  5. Attenuation factor (K-Factor) is 24 and is permanent
  6. Ratings are calculated promptly.

TIEBREAKER CRITERIA

Player results are summed together (Σ column in tournament table) under the following criteria:


PENALTIES

Violating playing rules may cause the immediate suspension or cancellation of your account, and may void your right to receive any prizes you may have won. Suspension or cancellation of your account relieve chess-server.com of any financial or other obligations incurred prior to such suspension or cancellation.
